My home studio is situated at the bottom of my garden in rural Lincolnshire and I also have a small workspace in the lovely coastal town of Ilfracombe in Devon. I am a very lucky girl indeed! Having a base in the both the heart of the countryside and by the coast means inspiration is literally on my doorstep. I love to travel but it is the great British outdoors that inspires me to paint.
I love colour; texture; landscapes; seascapes; nature; exploring and collecting. I can't complete a walk without taking a picture or getting a closer look at some intriguing patterns and shapes. In short, I'm a nightmare if you have to be anywhere in a hurry but I'm never short of inspiration to create! I also love to find vintage and unloved furniture and transform it with a a bit of colour and imagination.
This is really where the story of Olive Tree began - with the desire to combine the things I love in one space. After years of selling at markets, exhibitions and online, I always dreamt of creating a bright, homely, welcoming space where I could sell artwork, vintage pieces and the work of other artists and makers alongside fair-trade items and British designed homewares.
